Wintershall Dea completes appraisal well in Norwegian Sea

Wintershall Dea and its partners, Petoro, Aker BP and PGNIG, successfully completed an appraisal well on the Adriana gas and condensate discovery in the Norwegian Sea. They are now evaluating potential development options.Drilled with the Transocean Norge harsh-environment semisubmersible, the appraisal well encountered high-quality reservoirs in the primary target within the Cretaceous Lysing Formation. Following the completion of the well, the estimated recoverable volumes for the Adriana discovery were revised upwards from an initial 19 million to 31 million BOE to a new estimate of 28 million to 43 million BOE.The Adriana discovery was made in 2021 as part of

Helix lands deepwater well intervention contract offshore Nigeria

Helix Energy Solutions Group announced a deepwater well intervention contract award by Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria.The project, located in the Erha and Usan fields, is expected to start in September 2024 with the vessel expected to be in Nigeria into 2025. SNEPCo conducts first remotely controlled well completion offshore Nigeria

Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo) has successfully completed the first remotely-controlled well completion operation offshore Nigeria.The operation was performed at the Bonga field, in 1,060 m of water depth. The well completion operation was performed utilizing a Remotely Operated Controls System (ROCS) that was supplied by Norwegian technology company Optime Subsea.“We are very pleased with the performance of the ROCS. Equinor given green light to drill in the Barents Sea

The Norwegian Offshore Directorate granted Equinor a drilling permit for a wildcat well in the Barents Sea offshore Norway. The permit is for the 7220/2-2 exploration well in production license 1080. Baker Hughes, Petrobras agree to multi-year well services contract

Baker Hughes, an energy technology company, has announced a contract award from Petrobras for integrated well construction services in the Buzios field, offshore Brazil.The integrated services project is set for the first half of 2025 and will include drilling services, drill bits, wireline, cementing, wellbore cleanup, fishing, remedial tools, fluids, services and geosciences. KCA Deutag awarded two-year Ringhorne extension from Var Energi

Aker BP permitted to drill offshore Norway

The Norwegian Ocean Industry ity (Havtil) has granted Aker BP consent for exploration drilling in the North Sea offshore Norway on the Alvheim Deep prospect on well 24/6-5.Water depth at the location rests around 120 m and the well will be drilled using Noble Corporation’s Noble Integrator jackup.(2024-02-21)
